⏱ 1 hour

Prior Learning
Pupils should have completed the Year 3 Digital Art Activities.

🛠 What do pupils and teachers need?
The pupil activity pack (see teacher view below and pupil code above) includes 4 activities with each one including a video tutorial for either PowerPoint, Keynote (iPad) or Google Slides, so pupils will need access to one of those pieces of software. Pupils can copy the icon above each activity title and paste it into PowerPoint/Keynote/Google Slides to help.

👨‍🏫 Teacher Input
Discuss with pupils what type of jobs a graphic designer would do (design computer game graphics, design icons for apps, design graphics for websites/magazines/posters etc). Discuss how a computer makes the job easier (includes lots of tools all in one place, speeds up the process with copy/paste and allows greater accuracy than doing it by hand).
It is a good idea to watch the video tutorials for each activity together before pupils start and discuss the tools/skills as a class, pausing the video regularly
Due to the different versions of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), it is a good idea to show pupils the help menu, to help locate tools.

Differentiation
The activities below get progressively more challenging so you may find that pupils work at different paces. For activity 4, lower ability pupils may only complete the text part of the Google logo, whereas the higher ability can add the masked images behind based on a theme of their choosing (e.g historical days).

✅ Assessment
Pupils should save their PowerPoint, Keynotes or Google Slides files with a suitable file name.
